At our site in Berneck, we bring together development, production, quality and logistics. This is where MedTech for eye surgery is created – with Swiss precision and a strong sense of responsibility.
At Oertli, Swiss Made stands for more than origin. It reflects the way we work: close to real-world application, with short distances between disciplines and a clear focus on quality, precision and responsibility.
Lean Factory: Spanning 11,000 m² across three floors, the lean factory brings together production, logistics, analysis, training and collaboration in one place. This creates short distances between areas and a working environment designed for quality, efficient processes and teamwork.
Cleanroom: In a 660 m² cleanroom, products are manufactured under demanding requirements for quality and purity. The area is certified according to ISO and FDA standards. Lean-oriented and partially automated production lines ensure controlled conditions, precise processes and responsible use of resources.
Digital warehouse system: Located directly next to the cleanroom, logistics operate with a 14-metre-high, fully automated high-bay warehouse. Storage locations are used flexibly and managed with software support, ensuring materials are available at all times and paths within production remain short.
Part manufacturing: Key components for our devices and instruments are produced in component manufacturing. CNC production, micro-machining and surface processing require technical expertise, modern machinery and experience.
Bio Lab: In the Bio Lab, we carry out in-house material analyses. This shortens distances between analysis, development and quality, and strengthens our expertise in biocompatibility.
Oertli Square: Oertli Square is the heart of the lean factory and offers space for meetings, training, workshops and internal events. A light-filled courtyard with ginkgo trees creates a welcoming atmosphere for exchange and breaks.
Swiss Made is driven by people who contribute their expertise and take responsibility.
At our Berneck site, many functions work closely together, including development, quality, clinical, regulatory, production and logistics. This direct exchange creates understanding, short distances and a shared mindset. We work carefully, continue to learn and continuously improve our processes.
For us, sustainability means using resources responsibly across the entire value chain, from suppliers through development and production to our customers.
This approach is also reflected in the building of our lean factory. The photovoltaic system on the roof generates around 225,000 kWh of electricity per year and helps to reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 10%.
Water‑based ceiling panels regulate the indoor climate, while waste heat from various machines is reused. In addition, charging stations for electric vehicles support e‑mobility at the Berneck site.
